Hot-air balloon festival opens in Binh Thuan

The three-day event is among activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the province (April 19, 1975- 2025) and 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2025).

Binh Thuan (VNA) – A hot-air balloon festival opened on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Phan Thiet city, the south-central province of Binh Thuan on April 18.

The three-day event is among activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the province (April 19, 1975- 2025) and 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-2025).

At this festival, 16 colourful and variously sized hot air balloons are being showcased. Among them, 10 balloons are tethered along Nguyen Tat Thanh street. Depending on weather conditions, the festival organisers will launch four fixed hot air balloons while the remaining two will be available for tourists to visit and experience. Participants in the flights will enjoy panoramic views of Phan Thiet city and its surroundings from above. The organisers will conduct detailed safety checks and monitoring before, during, and after the flights.

Festival goers can also explore the photo exhibition and a display area promoting local commercial-tourism products under the theme “Binh Thuan - 50 Years of Construction, Innovation, and Development”.

On April 19 evening, there will be a fireworks show and a special arts programme celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan.

This year, Binh Thuan aims to welcome 10.6 million visitors, including approximately 400,000 international tourists and get a tourism revenue of 28.3 trillion VND (1.09 billion USD)./.
