Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria arrived in Hanoi in the afternoon of November 8, beginning a two-day State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

Hanoi (VNA) – Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria arrived in Hanoi in theafternoon of November 8, beginning a two-day State visit to Vietnam at theinvitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

President MichelleBachelet Jeria is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Heraldo Munoz,Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paulina Na Zal and Chilean Ambassador toVietnam Claudio De Negri, among others.

The visit aimsat strengthening the Vietnam-Chile friendship and comprehensive cooperation,particularly in economy, trade, investment, culture, science-technology andtourism.

Vietnam andChile set up diplomatic ties on March 25, 1971.

After theVietnam visit, the Chilean President will attend the APEC Economic Leaders’Meeting in central Da Nang city. Chile will host the APEC Year 2019.-VNA
