Hanoi (VNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has signed a decision establishing a Vietnamese sub-committee under the Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, and Investment Cooperation between the Vietnamese and Spanish Governments.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will act as the standing body of the subcommittee, which is chaired by a Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, with a senior official from the Government Office serving as Secretary.

The subcommittee comprises representatives at department/bureau level from the ministries of industry and trade; foreign affairs; finance; science and technology; construction; and culture, sports, and tourism.

The subcommittee’s chair will issue internal regulations on its organisation and operation, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of both the subcommittee and the broader Joint Committee.

The new body will operate under guidelines set by the PM’s 2016 decision governing the establishment and operation of Vietnamese subcommittees within intergovernmental committees with foreign nations./.
