Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,960 VND/USD on May 23, up 5 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 26,208 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,712 VND/USD.

At 8:20 am, the opening-hour rates at major commercial saw mixed fluctuations.

Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,790 VND/USD and the selling rate at 26,150 VND/USD, unchanged from the May 22 morning session.

Meanwhile, BIDV raised both rates by 5 VND, listing the buying rate at 25,795 VND/USD and the selling rate at 16,155 VND/USD./.
