Netherlands to invest 300 million USD in Indonesia

Indonesia will welcome 120 companies from the Netherlands on June 16, bringing trade and investment missions to the Southeast Asian nation.

Hanoi (VNA) - The Netherlands has prepared an investment of 4.89 trillion IDR (300 million USD) to support various programmes currently being implemented in the Indonesia, according to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

Kadin head Anindya Novyan Bakrie said Indonesia will welcome 120 companies from the Netherlands on June 16, bringing trade and investment missions to the Southeast Asian nation.

He stated that these investors will not only visit Jakarta. These 120 companies will be divided, some will go to Medan, Semarang, and Makassar, depending on the agenda.

The Netherlands is the largest EU investor in Indonesia, with contributions reaching 46% of the total European investments.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Marc Gerritsen stated that the 300 million USD investment mentioned by Anindya has been dedicated through the Invest International institution. The fund will be used to finance long-term and sustainable business projects in various priority sectors.

Gerritsen said the Dutch Embassy will do its best to "connect partners from both countries" to achieve Indonesia's development goals./.
