NA deliberates special mechanisms for social housing development

Vietnamese embassies in many countries have organised respect-paying ceremonies in commemoration of former President Tran Duc Luong, who passed away on May 20 at the age of 88.

Representatives of authorities and international diplomatic corps in Cuba, the US, and Canada have visited the Vietnamese embassies there to pay homage to former President of Vietnam Tran Duc Luong.

Representatives of many Asian countries and international friends have shown their respects for former President Tran Duc Luong's contributions to Vietnam's development, relations with their countries, and integration into the region.

The Party, State, and Government always pay close attention to overseas Vietnamese communities, including those in Malaysia, considering them an inseparable part of the nation.

The Cambodian delegation, led by Men Sam An, Vice President of the CPP, President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia Motherland (SFDCM), and Chairwoman of the Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association, was in Vietnam to pay homage to former State President Tran Duc Luong, who passed away on May 20.

Over the two days of national mourning, 830 delegations with about 10,500 people came to the National Funeral Hall, the Reunification Hall, and Hall T50 to pay homage to the late leader.

Lao Vice President Pany Yathotou said former State President Tran Duc Luong's passing is a great loss to the Vietnamese Party, State, and people, as well as to the Party, State, and people of Laos.

This marks the first official visit to Malaysia by a Vietnamese PM in a decade, and the first visit by a key Vietnamese leader since the two countries elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in November last year.

Leaders of Laos, China, Cambodia, Cuba and Russia have sent messages and letters of condolences to Vietnam, following the death of former Politburo member and former State President Tran Duc Luong on May 20.

Throughout the day, senior Cambodian delegations, including officials from the Royal Palace, the Cambodian People’s Party, the Senate, the National Assembly, the Government, ministries and sectors came to the embassy to pay their respects to the former leader of Vietnam.

The delegation, led by Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, represented the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the State, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Lao Front for National Construction. They laid a wreath, offered incense, and observed a moment of silence in memory of the late Vietnamese leader.

Hoan detailed Vietnam’s legislative efforts to strengthen legal frameworks for sustainable development and meet international commitments.

The Vietnamese people remain deeply grateful for the sincere and effective support extended by the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation during Vietnam’s struggles for independence, as well as in its post-war reconstruction and renewal process.

Vietnam always treasures its traditional friendship with Serbia, rooted in President Ho Chi Minh’s historic visit to the former Yugoslavia in 1957, Hang said.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My highlighted that beyond Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh is a symbol of freedom, human dignity, and peace - the values that have gone beyond the national border and touched the hearts of millions around the world.

It demonstrates Vietnam’s strong support for Malaysia’s role as the ASEAN Chair this year and reflects the shared determination for build a community that embodies sustainability, inclusiveness, solidarity and strength while consolidating ASEAN’s central role in regional peace and stability, Viet said.
