The following is a brief review of the day’s events as reported by the Vietnam News Agency.

With the foundation of solid friendship, political goodwill from both sides and the need for mutual development, Vietnam - Lithuania relations will continue to flourish strongly, substantially and comprehensively in the coming time.

The Vietnamese leader reaffirmed the Southeast Asian country's unwavering commitment to UNESCO's mission of maintaining global peace, security, and sustainable development through enhanced multilateral cooperation in education, culture, science, information, and communications.

PM Chinh proposed the two sides enhance delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, and establish and implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms to make the most of their collaboration potential.

Attention must be paid to reviewing regulations related to the establishment of a fund for promoting efficient and economical use of energy in the draft law, and financial incentives to ensure consistency with the Law on State Budget, the Law on Public Investment, and the Law on Taxation, the top legislator said.

The Party chief affirmed the strategic significance of merging the three provinces to form a new, larger Lam Dong province. The move is aimed at enhancing governance efficiency, restructuring the development space for greater cohesion and sustainability, and optimising resources.

Associate Professor Dr. Duong Trung Y, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), on June 9 received and worked with a delegation from the National Institute for Unification Education (NIU) of the Republic of Korea (RoK), led by Nam Misun.

The visit will be made at the invitation of Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong, according to an announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Vietnamese Government leader thanked Costa Rica for recognising Vietnam’s status as a market economy and expressed his belief that economic and trade relations between the two countries will grow significantly in the time ahead.

Resolution 59 marks a historic turning point in Vietnam’s international integration process, identifying integration as a strategic motivation for the nation to confidently enter a new era.

The Austrian side welcomed and highly appreciated the delegation’s visit, affirming that Austria highly values its traditional friendship with Vietnam and considers Vietnam one of Austria's leading important partners in Asia.

At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3), both diplomats expressed their satisfaction with the positive outcomes of French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Vietnam in late May, marking another milestone in the relationship between the two countries.

PM Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to multifaceted cooperation with Jordan.

For Vietnam, with its more than 3,000km of coastline, PM Chinh affirmed that the sea is not just a geographical concept but a symbol of national identity and the soul of the Vietnamese people.

The event aimed to promote the role of the blue economy in tackling current financial challenges, while underscoring the importance of sustainable investment and innovative policies in protecting the seas and oceans and fostering global economic prosperity.

The conference featured more than 20 in-depth presentations from Vietnamese scientists, entrepreneurs, and scholars residing in Europe. A notable highlight was the participants’ consensus and enthusiasm to contribute, particularly in line with the Politburo’s recently issued Resolution 57, which calls for mobilising the global Vietnamese intellectual network to help build a strong and prosperous nation by 2045.

Through this trip, Vietnam hopes to expand cooperation with France in emerging fields such as nuclear energy, science and technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence, in line with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Wishing that Luan and the Vietnamese community in France will grow stronger, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to international friends and promoting the role as a bridge between the two countries, the PM asked the Vietnamese Embassy to continue to well protect citizens, especially paying attention to helping overseas Vietnamese when facing difficulties and uncertainties.

This marks the first time a Vietnamese Prime Minister has participated in a UNOC. It is also PM Chinh’s first official visit to France since the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2024.
