Hungarian President arrives in Hanoi, beginning official visit to Vietnam

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda affirmed that Vietnam is one of Lithuania’s leading partners in the region and expressed a strong desire to further develop the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, particularly in areas where both sides have potential and strengths.

The new Cambodian NA building, a gift from Vietnam, was officially handed over to the Cambodian side on June 12, standing as a symbol of the profound friendship and solidarity between the two neighbouring countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for breakthrough cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden, stressing the importance of advancing political and diplomatic relations and promoting shared values, political trust, and close friendship.

Despite historical upheavals, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Lithuania has been preserved and nurtured over the years, said State President Luong Cuong.

Describing Vietnam as one of Lithuania’s leading partners in Southeast Asia, the Lithuanian President showed his delight at the positive momentum in bilateral ties and agreed that both sides should continue to enhance political trust and connectivity through various engagement channels.

Vietnam is currently exceeding the global benchmark for the participation of female police officers in peacekeeping missions, said Angela Pratt, Acting UN Resident Coordinator in Vietnam.

In the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks, the Vietnamese Government always accompany, support, and create favourable conditions for the business community in general and foreign investors, particularly Swedish enterprises, to achieve successful, sustainable, and long-term investments in Vietnam.

The talks between President Luong Cuong and his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda, the NA's adoption of a resolution on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units, and Vietnam listed as one of the few countries with a high level of food self-sufficiency are among news highlights on June 12.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening contacts and exchanges at all levels, especially high-level visits, across all channels so as to further consolidate mutual political trust and understanding, and lay a solid foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Welcoming President Nauseda's historic visit, General Secretary Lam affirmed that this trip is an important milestone, contributing to promoting the Vietnam - Lithuania bilateral relationship more strongly, practically and effectively in the coming time.

State President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent congratulatory messages to Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., while National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Speaker of the House of Representatives Martin Romualdez and Senate President Francis Escudero.

This is the first high-level visit by a Lithuanian head of state to Vietnam in many years, demonstrating the importance both countries attach to their traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation and also heralding a new chapter for bilateral relations.
