Cao Bang province enhances relationship with China’s Guangxi

Cao Bang (VNA) – The People’s Committee of the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang held a teleconference with the People’s Government of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on May 19 to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration in various fields.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Cao Bang provincial People's Committee Trinh Truong Huy suggested the two sides continue paying attention to enhancing trust, and stepping up regular contacts and meetings between their leaders, as well as cultural, social and people-to-people exchange activities.

The two sides should accelerate the construction of a "smart border gate" model to facilitate and improve the efficiency of customs clearance; promote technology transfer to apply smart and high technologies in growing fruit trees; promote and introduce specialty products, OCOP (one commune one product) products, and typical industrial products.

It is necessary to effectively implement the cooperation agreement between the UNESCO-recgonised Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark (Vietnam) and the UNESCO-recognised Leye - Fengshan Global Geopark (China); cooperate in building a “border marker square" project; and closely coordinate to operate the Ban Gioc - Detian Waterfall landscape site safely and effectively.

Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liao Pinhu showed his hope that the two sides will quickly realise and further strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, science and technology, transport, as well as in e-commerce, digital economy, digital connectivity, and artificial intelligence (AI).

He highlighted the need to closely coordinate and make thorough preparations to ensure the success of the upcoming visit by the Cao Bang province’s delegation to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, noting that this will contribute to further expanding, strengthening, and deepening the bilateral friendship and cooperation, thereby bringing practical benefits to local people and promoting social stability and economic development of both sides.

Since the beginning of 2025, Cao Bang and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have exchanged 27 delegations. The Vietnamese province has also signed 12 international documents and agreements with localities and partners./.
