6,000 compete in 2024 Strong Vietnam Int’l Marathon in Vung Tau

As many as 6,000 athletes, along with 60 Mister World titleholders and various beauty queens and runners-up, competed in the 2024 Strong Vietnam International Marathon in Vung Tau city, the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, on November 17.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – As many as 6,000 athletes, along with 60 Mister World titleholders and various beauty queens and runners-up, competed in the 2024 Strong Vietnam International Marathon in Vung Tau city, the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, on November 17.

The annual race featured distances of 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km, offering 100 prizes with a total value of over 600 million VND (23,612 USD), not only attracting enthusiasts but also helping promote health and fitness within the community.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, said the marathon offers an opportunity to showcase Vung Tau as an ideal destination, known for its stunning natural scenery, friendly people, and unique cultural heritage.

She added the route, which traverses some of the city’s most picturesque streets, serves as an invitation for participants to explore and experience the distinctive beauty of Vung Tau.

The same day, more than 3,000 athletes participated in the 2024 Phan Thiet Marathon – Green Journey in the south central province of Binh Thuan.

Nguyen Nam Long, Vice Chairman of the Phan Thiet city People’s Committee and Head of the marathon’s Organising Board, said it aims to promote the city’s image as a vibrant tourist destination, bringing Phan Thiet closer to both domestic and international visitors./.
